Over the years, I’ve had tons of gatherings, cookups, dinner parties and more. With each one, you gain slightly more experience than the last time and I’m happy to say I’ve learnt a number of things along the way (I’ll be sharing on these later).
However one of the main things I’ve learnt about hosting people is you always want them to feel thought of & special when they come into your space. There are many ways to do this but for me, one of the simplest ways is to have drinks ready for them upon arrival. The likelihood is that most guests in an attempt to be kind will probably bring a bottle of wine or a drink with them as a gift. But regardless, you should still have something ready to greet them once they come in.
I like to have a variety that guests can choose from, ranging from alcoholic to non-alcoholic and then present them in a way that’s pleasing to the eye. Most of the time, I experiment with combinations and flavours, then end up finding what I love until it becomes a firm favourite at my gatherings. Previously I shared the Apple & Elderflower Mocktail which goes down a treat but this time I wanted to recreate something which reminded me of one of my favourite drinks at a chain restaurant when I go out to eat.
A key focus for me was making it fuss free and this Lychee & Guava Mocktail is just that. Literally it’ll take you no more than five minutes to make, allowing you to be able to prep it shortly before your guests arrive or even way ahead of time if you prefer. Once again, it’s the extra bits like the fresh lime and kaffir lime leaves that make the difference.
I hope you enjoy this refreshing drink that brings all the summer feels with it! Feel free to take a pic and share online because I’m sure like me, you’ll think the colour is just as delicious as the drink itself!
Love,
Marbie
This super easy mocktail tastes as good as it looks and takes less than five minutes to make!
Slice the lime into thin wedges. You should get about 8 pieces in total.
Place the lime wedges, fresh mint and kaffir lime leaves into a jug.
Pour the guava juice and lychee juice into the jug.
Stir to combine and add ice if you’d like for an extra chilled vibe.
Serve and enjoy!
Ever had a drink that reminds you of summer? Or had a craving for something that’s sweet but not too sweet? Well this is it…the one drink that’s fail-proof and when everyone tastes it, they seem to love it! It has provided relief on some incredibly hot days but guess what? It’s delicious all year round if I’m honest.
Before I share the recipe with you, can I let you in on a little secret? The magic is in the little details. Those little garnishes and ingredients that seem unnecessary will actually add a whole heap of flavour to the drink. Ok let’s get to it!
Summery, Fruity and Fresh! The perfect mocktail!
Wash the lemon, strawberries, blueberries and mint.
Slice the lemon into rounds and cut the strawberries in half.
Combine all of these into a large jug.
Pour the elderflower cordial into the fruit mixture and stir. (try to squash some of the fruit to release its juices). Then pour half of the apple juice into the mix and then some sparkling water.
Add ice, stir and enjoy!
Thankfully this recipe can be easily adapted so feel free to add as much elderflower cordial as you’d like or to add more or less apple juice until it’s just right for you!
